We (myself Jason T. Nolde, my wife Melissa, and my 6 year old son Preston)
were hunting the Kisatchie National Forest near Homer, La on November
12,2005.  The deer were taken 100 yards apart and 20 minutes apart.
The 5pt. was Melissa's first buck.  She made a wonderful 90 yard shot from
her ground blind.
My buck was a 210 lb. 9pt. with a 20 1/8 inch spread.

My son Preston and I were hunting together from a ground blind we built.
We had been sitting about 1 1/2 hours and he asked me how to make a
deer noise.  I pulled out my calls and showed him how to use a buck grunt
and a doe bleat call.   Shortly after, I let him use the grunt call and then
the bleat call and about 2 minutes later 2 does came running out.  We
watched them for a minute and then a buck came running out, grunting
every step, and I took the shot.  Three shots actually, he just didn't want to
go down.  We were sitting giving him some time to lay and talking about
how awesome it would be if Mommy were to kill a deer now.  Well, about
20 minutes after I killed my buck, "BANG !!!!" , we heard her shoot.  We
jumped up celebrating with high fives and took off running towards her,
actually I carried him the last 100 yards so we could hurry.  I was so excited!
When we got there Mommy told us she had shot a buck also, but he didn't
fall.  We searched and found blood and trailed the deer for about 200
yards and there he lay, her first buck.  It was a day my family will never
forget.  And the most wonderful thing is, we done it all together.  What a
memory!!
